All CSCO members are expected to uphold the following standards in their professional practice and in their engagement with the CSCO community.
1. Professional Integrity
Members shall conduct themselves with honesty, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of their ministry. They shall represent their qualifications and experience truthfully and maintain confidentiality in pastoral relationships.
2. Catholic Identity
Members shall uphold and embody the teachings, traditions, and values of the Catholic Church in their ministry. They shall serve as witnesses to the Gospel and to the Catholic intellectual and spiritual tradition.
3. Respect for All Persons
Members shall treat all persons with dignity and respect, regardless of background, identity, or circumstance. Discrimination, harassment, or conduct unbecoming of a pastoral minister will not be tolerated.
4. Duty of Care
Members shall prioritize the wellbeing and safety of the students and staff they serve. They shall follow all mandatory reporting requirements and board safeguarding protocols without exception.
5. Professional Development
Members shall pursue ongoing learning and professional development to grow in their ministry. Active participation in CSCO events and collegial networks is encouraged.
6. Collegial Relationships
Members shall support and encourage one another in the spirit of Christian community. Public criticism of fellow members, school boards, or the Church is contrary to the values of CSCO.
7. Compliance with Laws and Policies
Members shall comply with all applicable laws, school board policies, and Ministry of Education guidelines, including those related to equity, privacy, and professional conduct.
Reporting Concerns
Concerns about a member’s conduct may be directed to the CSCO Executive at csco.communications@gmail.com. The Executive will review all concerns in accordance with CSCO’s governance procedures.
